We had the pleasure of collaborating with a family in the Chicago suburbs to transform their newly renovated library into a truly inviting, stylish, and highly functional retreat.
We had the pleasure of collaborating with a family in the Chicago suburbs to transform their newly renovated library into a truly inviting, stylish, and highly functional retreat.
Our primary goal was to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere, perfect for reading, relaxation, and intimate gatherings. By infusing the space with mid-century contemporary design elements, we aimed to elevate its aesthetic while ensuring a cohesive flow with their existing family room and surrounding areas.

Our scope of work focused on key design layers. We carefully selected plush, comfortable seating - including elegant armchairs, a timeless sofa, and three flexible ottomans that serve dual-purpose as a coffee table - to anchor the room. We meticulously styled the built-in shelves, curating books and decorative accents, including personal touches like framed photos, meaningful artwork, and unique bookends, all contributing to a rich, uncluttered look.

"My favorite part was the home install, where Gabe came in with design goodies at hand, organized the library while I left the room and I came back amazed. It was like a TV show! I love Gabe's energy, organization and her clear communication. I know that Gabe's own style is bolder than mine, but the library is designed to my taste. She truly went above and beyond to follow through on all purchasing and offering alternative options for design items. Gabe did the heavy lifting of finding items from a plethora of stores, but at the end I got to choose what spoke to me! Our girls read in the library daily and my husband and I love having a cup of tea and chatting about our day in the quiet of the night. The space is zen, inviting, warm and super stylish!"
